Lilac Street Capital provides independent business valuations and M&A advisory for Main Street and lower middle market business owners nationwide. Credentialed analysis. Practical guidance.
Independent, defensible valuations for business owners, their advisors, and the IRS. Whether you need to know what a business is worth for a transaction, an estate plan, or a dispute, the analysis starts the same way: With the actual numbers, not a back-of-envelope estimate.
Most business owners sell once. The buyers on the other side have done this before. Pre-sale readiness and sell-side advisory help close that gap, so you understand what your business is actually worth to a buyer and what it takes to get a deal done on reasonable terms.
You're thinking about an exit in the next 1–5 years. You want to understand what your business is worth today, what a buyer will actually pay, and what you need to do between now and then to maximize the outcome.
You need a credentialed business valuation for an estate plan, a gift, or a trust. The work has to hold up to IRS scrutiny. A former IRS Business Valuation Specialist knows exactly what that standard looks like from the other side.
You have a client who needs sell-side support or an independent valuation before going to market. We work as a discreet, credentialed partner and stay in our lane. The relationship is yours; the analysis is ours.
Lilac Street Capital is a bespoke M&A advisory and valuation practice founded by Timothy Vance, CFA, based in Austin, Texas, and serving clients nationwide.
Before founding Lilac Street, Timothy served as a Business Valuation Specialist on the IRS Large Business and International division's Engineering and Valuation team, reviewing corporate, partnership, and fiduciary valuations in audits, litigation support, and Tax Court proceedings. That work built a precise understanding of how valuations get challenged and what makes them hold up.
The sell-side advisory work is closely paired with QoEPro, Timothy's buy-side Quality of Earnings practice. Deep visibility into what buyers actually scrutinize in due diligence informs how Lilac Street prepares sellers to withstand it.
Lilac Street Capital was built to serve entrepreneurs who don't come from privilege, pedigree, or a private equity pipeline. We know what it means to build something from the ground up.
